Instant electric hot water heaters can sometimes cause lights to flicker when drawing power
Problem:
- Water electric water heaters draw a huge amount of power (80amps+), and can cause a voltage drop to the service at the house. Whether this voltage drop occurs depends on the power lines and transformer at the street.
When the voltage drops, is causes the lights to dim, and then when the voltage returns the lights get brighter.
LEDs resonate (flash) as a very high rate and when the voltage drops occurs the resonation slows down enough so human can perceive it. High quality LED bulbs can address this problem.
To fix this problem:
- Change out the flickering bulbs with ultra-high quality LEDs
